Chronology of African history - colonizing nations (19 to 20 cents Ries)

The purpose of this article offer the reader a complete picture of the greatest civilizations of the world, originating in Africa, the continent's major modern scholars now describe it as "the cradle of civilization." This history is sophisticated and intelligent readers who had never read before, something serious about Africa, since the early days of the last address. Most black people have their confidence, lost their true identity, becausetheir history has been neglected, falsified, is partly covered. Diana Crawford Carson was in the compilation of the history, how many hours have passed because of synchronization from many sources and review of the instrumental use of language. Note: Items century, generally refers to the first date. Example: An entry for 14 to 18 century found at 1300 '14th Century '. The numbers in the left column are arbitrary, to help those who useIndices.

THE BLACK HOLOCAUST

The Black Holocaust is one of the unreported tragedies in the annals of human history. The Holocaust refers Black lost the lives of millions of Africans over the centuries of slavery, colonization and oppression. The Black Holocaust refers to the horror of millions of men, women and children in the African Diaspora and the slave trade to bear, since 17 century, education and training for at least the next two centuries. (Indifferent form, and from many nations, the tragedy of slavery. etc.) In pure numbers, the depth and brutality, is a testament to the worst elements of human behavior and the strongest elements of survival.

was the unknown number of Africans (perhaps more than 4 million) have died in the wars of the slaves and marches by other prisoners shipped to other countries. Coastal tribes fled; Within Central Africa itself unusual mass migration, the slave tradeshare slave raids and the capture and transport slaves were punished, or sold to slave owners in other regions of Africa.

The African slave trade and slave labor transformed the world. In Africa, the slave trade stimulated the development of powerful kingdoms in West Africa, made possible with the tools and weapons with the proceeds of the slave trade in equipment. In the Islamic world, African slaves on the plantations expansion, sea ports and the families of Commerce and IndustryIndian Ocean and Persian Gulf. In the Americas, North and South, slave labor was the key component in trans-Atlantic agriculture and commerce, which in turn is booming capitalist economy of the 17th and 18th centuries. The greatest demand came from Brazil (South America) and sugar cane plantations in the Caribbean.

84 STABILITY

Many Africans, like Queen Nzinga of Angola and Congo Marembo King, fought valiantly, if unsuccessfully, against the European slavers and their African employees, without which the large number of men and women may not have been captured. Others resisted their captors starting riots or even desperation jump into the sea from slave ships during the horrible "middle passage" across the Atlantic. Many African slaves were in America for a "pause" in the subject, often in the West Indian islands. Many of the prisoners, especially the very strongSpirit, were not "broken", and managed to flee, eventually to form independent trade unions, as the Maroons ('outliers') in the West Indies. Some of these Maroon communities, numbering in the thousands in the Caribbean and South America, the guerrilla war against the slave traders. When the slave fugitives were caught, were executed terribly brutal.

85 THE diaspora: the forced and brutal dispersal of almost thirty million Africans abroadCountries like the slaves of black diaspora is. African slaves and their descendants brought with them their skills and shared many common values, rich cultural traditions, elasticity and resistance ethos and transformed the cultures have enriched the world. Just as the Africans were scattered all over the world have brought their many strengths and traditions of cultural creativity and verbal art with them. This led to a culture rich in music, with a variety ofTools, some primitive

and some very sophisticated, lively rhythms, dance, costumes in a rainbow of colors, almost as an exploration of different textures and colors. E 'adorable use of repetition in poetry, in the call-and-response vocal and storytelling, all part of the rich heritage of most African nations. Cultural traditions of African music and oral

86 1789 a Nigerian slave zone of Benin, Nigeria carried, theStates (USA) as a child, and later reached the freedom and reached England. Somehow along the way learned that the young Equiano reading, writing and so that, even in freedom, was able to write his autobiography. Perhaps a security issue, as Gustavus Vassa wrote, although he used his real name in the title of his book "The interesting story of the life of Olaudah Equiano '. This fascinating and painful book Equiano (also called Igbo) was a clear presentation of his lifeas a slave, and then released. An interesting aspect is the description of the difference between Equiano the African system of slavery and European slavery "serf". "This is partly a defense of African writing system of serfdom, as most human of Europeans, the system of slavery, ownership of another person. As probably the first autobiography of a slave or former slaves, the book has aroused much interest. Equiano book was written followed by others, freed fromMen or smuggled out of slavery still not free. All this has helped to encourage the young but growing movement against the death penalty in the United States and Europe.

87 1790 The movement against the death penalty (for the abolition of slavery), was strengthened in Britain and the United States.

88 A 1792 slave revolt in Haiti (Saint-Dominigue called by the French), in which the slaves), was conducted by thousands of Toussant L'Ouverture (1743 to 1803. His armyFinally, numbered 55 000 Africans, and the guerrilla war being waged against the British front in Haiti for years.

89 end of the 18th to mid 19th C political, economic and scientific interests suggested another era of European exploration and the search for new markets. British explorer James Bruce reached the source of the Blue Nile in 1770, explored the Scottish explorer Mungo Park (1795 and 1805) the river Niger, Scottish missionary David Livingstoneinvestigated and the Zambezi in 1855, named Victoria Falls, and the British explorer John Hanning Speke and James Augustus Grant, traveling downstream, and Sir Samuel White Baker, upstream from the headwaters of the Nile in 1863. After the discoverer (and sometimes in front of them) were the Christian missionaries and European traders.

1990 1795 The British took control of the Cape Colony, South Africa, by the Dutch.

1800 and 1991 in the century Swahili poetry written in the language of the longest topics focused mainly on the Arabs (and Muslims). The new poetry as Kiswahili and Bantu cultural uses traditional materials, like their ritual songs and much more. The well-known Swahili poet, Sayyid Abdallah bin Masir, wrote a strong religious poetry "The Soul's Awakening" ("wa utendi Inkishafi '). This story of the fall of the godfather, a city-state, presented astrong message about the futility of this life selfish.

99 1839 West African people and states were required by the problems of population and the discomfort caused by the Atlantic slave trade, and the resulting movements of Africans.

100 1839-1842 These years saw the reality) Amistad (slave uprising, the Steven Spielberg film based 1997th The "rebellion" was toshipwrecked off the coast of Cuba The impetus of this revolt was raised serious impact on young people in the United States, while the men captured the rebellion sparked a battle with the law, politics and public debate to raise awareness Public terrible and inhumane aspects of slavery and the slave trade, and concern for the loss of the original home of the slaves that were stolen from Africa. Race was an issue, but also discuss if it was to enslave the right breedanother. The fiber of the young American nation has been hit.

101 La Amistad revolt was an important episode in the history of teeth: (1) West Africa, whose peoples and states have made you uncomfortable / dangerous (in 1839) due to loss of massive slave population by the terrible devastation Atlantic trade and (2) Cuba, Spanish possession (in 1839) and is a major sugar producer, perhaps the largest in the world and even in thisa culture of great slave society, the last in the Caribbean, and (3) A little further north, the fledgling but growing in the United States in 1839 produced a major political power beyond its borders has become, but always politically more torn from his position as half slave and half free. There were those who believed that slavery was a biblical basis for (v. 55 and 84), and perhaps a greater number equal or had their long history of calls, come tothe New World in search of political freedom, religious or otherwise.

102 1832-3 The British abolished slavery in the West Indies, 25 years after banning the British slave trade, and two years before the prohibition of slavery (in 1835) in England.

The Mfecane 103 1850 (v. 95), the Boer republics of Orange Free State black and Transvaal were established in the middle.

104 1850Black African journalists and other writers in Europe or in the various tasks and the State schools in Africa, has started to make polite. One form of recognition has been easy to publish her for her words in print. To this end, several short stories and poetry journals, the latter a "Poets' Corner" was published. The writings have been published in many indigenous African languages, as well as in several European languages.

105 1853 David Livingstone300 km route along the upper Zambezi, then from the Linyanti in Botswana together today in Luanda, Angola on the coast of Portugal. Having restored his strength, he retraced his way to Linyanti before falling to Quelimane in Mozambique, making him the first European to cross the continent from the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean.

USA 106 1863 The Emancipation Proclamation freed all slaves in the United States, includingbefore the end of the Civil War.

107 1870 The Zulu took up arms against the British.

108 1871 Livingstone witnessed a terrible massacre in a town called Nyangwe in Central Africa, where Arab slave traders drew their weapons after a dispute over the price of a chicken, and fired indiscriminately over 400 people.

During thesedecades 109 1871-1912, European imperialism initsascendancy was the strongest and most powerful. The British were also in the race in many ways, like other countries were trying to carve itself a piece of Africa, or declare that they have already asked. All European countries have their own limitations in Africa, without regard to the traditionally accepted boundaries of tribe or a country already occupied ethnic / tribal, ethnic groups or even small rule nations. The long held traditionbetween the colonial powers was "divide and rule. The Europeans had begun to parts of Africa in the mid-fifteenth century, to plunder the riches of anything that can be found or created. Strict measures at European level, even encouraged, the tensions and hostilities between the tribe / language groups / ethnic unity.

110 This "was also a moment of" land conversion "or" alienation of land, which should be more honest "land grab" or "theftLand 'long by local people for generations owned and managed property as pasture for the farmers' flocks, for generations. It was not "the alienation of the land," the country can not be "alienated" It 's been the alienation of the helpless and vulnerable in Africa, forced the colonists to get power. (See 76, 97)

111, at the same time, there was a resurgence of self-respect among many black African nations who have seen the error of adopting the EuropeanEuropean cultures were of higher value than the natives, ancient cultures of Africa. The blacks in Africa have been covered since the beginning of even more (and oppressed) by those who believed "white supremacy" at the expense of the integrity to reject the African blacks.

112 1873 Livingstone died (a man disappointed) May 1, in Ilala, from the shores of Lake Bangweulu, the slave trade seemed to be the point of this ineradicable. But only a monthlater, beginning to heal the open wound of slavery, when the Sultan of Zanzibar (June 5, 1973) has signed a contract with the English, who promises to end the slave trade in East Africa. The Old Slave Market was sold to University mission in Central Africa, they built a magnificent cathedral on the old slave cells, abolished as a fitting monument to his success posthumously Livingstone.

113 1879 British troops defeated the Zulu at Isandhlwana. NotSoon after, Rourke's Drift Zulu lost the British in South Africa.

114 1880 for publication of time has been a resurgence of African pride and subsequent writings, this movement is sometimes referred to as a "self-glorification, but in reality should be seen as the traditions and reputation at home and culture.

This period also saw an increase in conflicts between the colonial powers in Africa and in many areas, and strong differences of opinion evencolonization among the European nations.

115 1882 assertedits this time Britain claim to Egypt.

116 1883 The awareness of tension (and the corresponding rights) increased at both European and African, perhaps partly in response to concerns about the impact of colonization theincreased. There have been numerous (and relevant) in English writers, especially at that time, the writers of South Africa, OliveA cut. His novel "The Story of an African Farm", addresses the outstanding issues in relations between races and between men and women. This sensitive book was among the first in this area and is often cited as a classic.

Other 117 in 1871-1912

Until the end of 1800 and even in the twentieth century, the partitioning of Africa, regardless of the will of the African native, was seriously advanced. The new boundaries between the traditional lines intersect, this wasstarted way back in 1400, more harmful to local communities and culture. The limits are for the convenience of colonial powers, business opportunities have been investigated in the first place, often at the expense of local producers of the material by the Europeans (some historians have to "steal" the word ethics describe some European traders) armies armed and ships have been protected. For many Europeans, has been the target of cheap raw materialsEuropean industry. Many also had a perverted Christian "ideology" (see 55 and 84), colored by self-righteous racism View all non-whites as heathen pagans. The capitalist settlers followed in the footsteps of former Christian missionaries, and (sometimes) even the first dealer.

The tensions between the colonial powers came out and threatened the existing peace, but sometimes fragile among the European nations.

118 1884 German chancellor Ottovon Bismarck, has announced a protectorate over the bay of Angra Pequena (Namibia).

119 1885 In August, Bismarck has sent four warships to Zanzibar, require that the Sultan with his hand over his reign in Germany.

1884-5121 The potential danger for peace in Africa and Europe has led to the convening of the Conference of Berlin. Not only the European colonial powers, but also the (fairly neutral) United States (where slavery was onlyrecently completed) have met to try to solve some of these tensions. At the conference of colonial powers jointly clarify the areas in which they support. They also have established "rules" for future development and also to the use of Zaire and Niger rivers, the importance of maritime transport and others. Given the attitude of the colonial powers, it is perhaps not surprising that African states were not included in the discussions, when agreements were reachedthe conference no African nation has signed such agreements. No doubt, no doubt, but even they had been asked, I would not have signed, and who have done their best to invalidate the decisions and their (African) opposition. Peace in Africa, seemed a distant dream, as there were many battles around the same time, Algeria, Ashanti (Ghana), Dahomey, Hausa-Fulani, the states (the latter were defeated) and the Matabele (Ndebele) and the Shona.

1221885 The "New Era" newspaper began publication in Sierra Leone. It was the beginning of the independent press in Africa, local people are, like the "New Era", or through local consortia. This was a big step to secure the release of local perspectives, even against the opposition "strong", both African leaders and Africans.

123 1895-1897 Among the new wave of African writers at that time there was in hisBoloki native, a young man named Buntungu, who wrote about his experience, after a trip to England. His book is'Mokingi mwa Mputu "or" a trip to Europe. "The perception of this book are of particular value, with comments from a local young educated Africans.

124 1896 A modern and successful African resistance was seen when the Italians suffered a heavy defeat against Ethiopians under Emperor Menelik II. In the battle of Adwa (orAdua), wiped his troops by the Italians.

125 1896-1897, there were problems in Rhodesia British, dominated at this time, as recorded in the British South Africa Company Report "Native Disturbances in Rhodesia.

126 at the end of 19 ° C before that time and into the next century, there was evidence of growing awareness and growing public opinion in Western countries (especially "white" countries) against the European CommunityColonization and colonial practices.

127 1899-1902 Long Africa tensions eventually led to the Boer War in South Africa. Although the British officially won the war, it was a Pyrrhic victory (in which the winners are almost worse than those they defeated) had to make too many concessions to them in terms of domestic politics. These have been applied for (and won) by the Boer (Afrikaner farmers) political organization. These concessions created the wayFinally, to shake off the chains of white Boers of British rule. There was also the European ancestry Afrikaner power-on the black African majority at this time.

Lost - Lost Faith - luggage found - no doubt a bit 'unsafe in post 9-11 security

Security issues or deodorant, which is more important?

Tape Storage in Columbia International Airport has worked well. The luggage was not. turned and all the baggage. Slowly and efficiently retrieve their luggage and the people left, until there is only one bag left. There was also left to another person. It was the last piece of luggage that looked ugly, and you should see someone, he said. I went downstairs to see the closurethe carousel, as if my luggage seems like a miracle. But it's no wonder today's luggage. The baggage claim office was busy, so I immediately stepped in line. The young man looked at my claim ticket, compared with the screen of his computer, print out a sheet of brown paper recycled from your printer, pulled it out and handed it to me. I've seen it deliberately, thinking I would feel much better with a little 'more than one officer has been torn piece of brown recycled paper with the type so fadedwhat I have a headache.

"Well, what." I asked.

"It's okay." He told the newspaper shows "for phone numbers, and the tracking number and left, and the process, everything is there. - Apart"

I went back to reading my area carousel brown recycled paper. It was all right, but not at all comforting.

"Mr McConnell?" It 'was my trip, my host for the weekend, Dr. Osterlund, not light. A professor at Columbia University with a pile ofCredentials and a warm handshake.

"How was the flight, Mr McConnell?" He said.

"Only for Mac, please, it's been quiet so far, lost luggage." I said.

This is no small thing to most people, but it could ruin the whole weekend for me, because without luggage, I am jobless.

I usually check my pockets because of the size of the file, but often smile at the thought that they tried to find clothes for my Bible, makeup kit, false beard and attributes of myProfession, enjoyed the confused look. I'm an actor. An actor in the Bible. Wrote "A one-man passion play," Miami Hearld in a critical review of my most ambitious drama "The Gospel According to Simon (St.) Peter." I use most of the time and Saint Simon's Catholic Church and the Episcopal Church. Of course, the loss of baggage is a good costume does not eliminate the anxiety. Before I had a quiet confidence on their arrival in Colombia, until it is the last to secure the nextempty baggage carousel. The bag was the last of a dead ringer for Freddy Freeloader his possession.

Frankly, I was not too surprised with just made connections with a delay of Ft Lauderdale for the annual Air and Sea Show in a class.

I could not help but wait, as we sat on the runway before the trip and look at the Touch - N - is the proposed Blue Angels, one of two things:

1. Since the Blue Angels have been predicted months in advance as this prisonerDelta Air Navigation and unprepared?
2. Only a miracle would have given my connection.

There is no real problem, there were certainly other flights, and my performance was not today. Then weather forced a model company in Atlanta. No connection is secure. That is, when, where your faith is echoed in my ear. To this I say, not "in the Delta or the banking system, or time, or anything that is not entirely in my control - and yes, of course, in my God that sound defensive?Probably. The truth is that this question usually jump when someone wants to challenge someone else's faith.

Well, I shot a prayer to my name, just in case. As we have seen, most flights were delayed in Atlanta and two whole minutes I plopped in my usual seat, 10C, first row behind the first class on the island. Fast first class, but without the money. Works for me, you know, it's ministry. But when they arrived, I pray for the forgottenParking for the flight? Yep. Quiet satisfaction concern quieter at 07.00 clock announced nonchalantly as a computer voice, "your luggage has not been located at this time." Do you? It is not good news. Now quiet concern was not so quiet frustration. It 'started a haunting thought without costume as an excuse for the cancellation of a performance, and plan B was not present. Oh yes, my host served dinner with stimulating conversation with enough distractionthe problem. After all, it was too soon.

Back at the hotel, make another call to rent the number imprinted on my lost luggage brown recycling, thought - now that I was alone, - "I'd be torn happier with something more official in the hands of a half-page brown recycled paper. "To my tracking number and a computerized voice that struck me again ITALY", your baggage has been located at this time. "

"Quiet frustration was audible now, and most likelyheard next door. I think fists given 0, which could respond to a person of flesh and bones, she did.

"Can I help you?"

Duh, my first thought, then Yeah! My luggage is missing, I am a performer, this is my life, my office, there is a God thing! But what was out, was "Yes, thank you very much, I was hoping to get some information about my lost luggage."

"Certainly, Mr. McConnell, I'll help you there." This was a relief. She knew my name. AreSystem. Excellent. I heard on keys and ready for immediate response (King James language a little 'flavor.)

"Mr. McConnell, I do not know the location of your luggage to show at this time."

I said no effect, or I was simply speechless.

"I do not understand, not a place." I assumed with all the 911 safety measures and it combined with the baggage of passengers and luggage is always localizable.

"Now, Mr. McConnell Atlanta does not scan for luggageFlights. "

All sorts of things in my mind zip - Atlanta did not crawl? security risk, my luggage is on its way to San Francisco, does not show tomorrow. Hey, what's my medicine, clean underwear, toothbrush, deodorant? All perfectly legitimate concerns. Then I said, "Really?" You really have no idea where my luggage, or whether it will ever get to Columbia? "

"Mr McConnell," this lady is good, very polite, not a hint of excitement, perfect for the job."There are five other flights to Colombia to come this evening, there's two already, and probably your luggage is already there, and it's just not been scanned. You could call in thirty to forty minutes, we should have any this time. "

Learn more about this time a piece we have no information about your luggage. The frustration was more like disgust always prayed all the time determined and convincing, the luggage would arrive before2:00 clock. Another dramatic pause from me, then,
"Thanks." Click. Very innovative.

Mac Serenity Now let's be reasonable, this is not the end of the world, only one subtest, a minor inconvenience, I think some fonts, such as ... I could not remember all the fonts in the vicinity of lost luggage. Lost souls, perhaps, but not luggage. Wait. How is it that would be lost sheep? I remember the question, it would be "a man with a hundred sheep to lose, you can look for the 99 andlost. "Yes, it is to leave all that baggage go and find where my! Like this escaped my lips, the phone rang. Could it be? If your luggage in fact a miracle of all? This should be at the reception awaited announcement. Wrong.

"Mr McConnell, Bridget is with Delta claims, we find only that your baggage has been analyzed in Colombia, is located on the truck to the hotel, and should arrive in twenty to thirty minutes will receive."

Never doubt! My alter ego Simon shows. Well, that was at 9:00 clock. I put my corn and relaxed on Flick Sean Conery, when he still had hair, or a great makeup artist. 10:00 back from bit 'sick. What happens if the information was wrong? What happens if my luggage was not at all. Mine was still en route to California.

Ring! Ah, the call.

"Mr McConnell, Delta simply dropped their luggage at the reception."

It 'been a long fall from the top 5. But when you leave the elevatorand around the corner, there it was. As I said, never a doubt. OK, a bit '.

Name Perceptions - What's in a name?

The meaning of the name can not be underestimated. When we meet new people, is the first thing we do, we ask for the name. When it comes to someone else, we often hear about them by name. You might think the same people with a particular name that specific property. All these factors, and all the people we know with a particular name carries often influences our view of that name.

Numerous psychological studies have been conducted that attempts to measure humanThe ideas about names, and this perception leads to the actual characteristics exhibited by such persons. In fact I heard many of these studies indicate that people have preconceived ideas, which has properties of a given name. This implies that people can feel just hearing your name. How someone treats you can make a factor from other people they know with a similar name, or other people to hear about it with your name. It is not uncommon to hear parents refuseName for their baby to come, because they know that another person by name, not that they like.

Before choosing a name for your baby, it's a good idea to find out what people think of the name. Unfortunately, there is often a mystery to what people think of a specific name, or judge anyone by those names. The spirit of Christmas is giving them, decorate the house with the traditional symbols of Christmas as mistletoe, holly, Christmas symbolizesTree and putting up a replica of the manger.

The story of the birth of Jesus, took them from the biblical accounts (especially the Gospel of Luke), which states that "the mother of a child, Jesus visited Mary by an angel of the Lord said that he would soon become the place name Jesus' divine conception takes place. Then she married Joseph and they have all the way to Bethlehem with a new decree of the Roman Emperor Caesar TravelAugustus, to pay all taxes in the city, to which they belonged. It 'was in Bethlehem of Judea, that Mary, now' heavy with child, gave birth to Jesus - but in a manger, because there is no place for her and Joseph in the inn.

Close to some shepherds were keeping watch over their flock by night. An angel of the Lord appeared before them and told them the good news of the birth of the Savior and the Messiah, expected by all. There was great joy andFortunately, after this revelation.

Then the three wise men from the East, which was this small, humble manger was conducted by North Star - the Star of Bethlehem - to pay homage to the baby Jesus. Preparing for Leadership

Introduction

to lead people usually attribute their success or failure of a leader whose skills and qualifications. For this reason, if the leaders are sought after in the secular world, are the qualifications of the person usually given primary consideration. In contrast, a closer examination of the reputation of the great leaders of God in the Bible that God is not primarily concerned about the qualifications. EIMS Leroy noted that politicians like Moses, Gideon and Jeremiah openedconfessed their inadequacy to the task that God has called them to do.1 If God is not then qualified for the men called it would try to achieve.

E 'and then say that the preparations were not required for leadership? According to Gottfried Osei-Mensah, where the conditions of spiritual leadership.2 This statement is implying that some form of preparation is needed. It is also clear from Scripture that every leader that God had used some characteristics or features that have beenrequired in the performance of their duties. This observation, however, raises a question: were these leaders prepared for their vocation, or did they just happen to have the qualities necessary for God? With God, things do not happen by accident, so the thesis of this article, the God of the Bible as the leaders were always prepared for their task.

To clarify the thesis statement selected in the Bible study leader. The aim is to prove first that the leaders were ready toLeadership and secondly, to determine the call type of preparation and its importance for the leaders'.

The following three categories of state and government have been selected for this study:

a) Those whose reputations and the Commission was a surprise for her
b) those who were cared for by their predecessors
c) those who assumed the leadership because of the crisis.

Under each leader of the presentation also be divided into three sections:

a) his life story to the front of his appointmentManagement;
b) His leadership and achievements;
c) a summary of the specific ways he was prepared for leadership. Finally, a

The assessment should be made and conclusions drawn.

A. leader whose call the Commission has come as a surprise

Among the leaders, the reputation and the Commission was a surprise, Moses and Paul. These were executives who had a personal encounter with God, while pursuing their goals in life. These leaders would now be discussed individuallyto determine how each of them for the guide has been prepared.

Moses

a) story of his life before his appointment to leadership

The Bible, in Exodus chapters 2-5, describes the life of Moses from the time of his birth to his reputation. Under that section, in Egypt, Moses was born to Jewish parents. But because of an edict of Pharaoh to kill all baby boys jew, his mother did not raise from childhood to adulthood. But from what might be called divine providence,Howard F. Vos said that Moses probably spent the first two or three years of his life with his mother.3 The remaining time of his first 40 years the building has been passed as an adopted son of Pharaoh's daughter. Commented between Moses in Pharaoh's palace spent watching John C. Maxwell, who has the best that Egypt has preserved both physically and intellectually. Maxwell cites Acts 7:22 that Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and wasmighty in words and deeds.4

be recognized, despite the fact that he was raised in Pharaoh's palace Moses Jewish identity. He had to flee to Egypt because he killed an Egyptian to protect an oppressed Jews. The next forty years of his life spent in Midian, the flock of Jethro. It 'was in Midian, in about 80 years ago, that God is the call surprised him.

b) His leadership and performance

In this section, you need to target only for a brief reflectionThe first responsibility of Moses' and performance. According to John D. Hannah, in his commentary on Exodus, God instructed Moses to the children of Israel from Egypt. He showed that application and the Commission as a complete surprise came Moses.5 Although God has also promised to take the children of Israel, a good and broad land, that, after Anna has not been given to Moses. To support his point, he referred to the declaration of Stephen on the mission of Moses' in Acts 7:35-36, which means thatthere was no indication that Moses was probably the children of Israel the promise land.6 Moses, in fact, the task that God gave him, despite his objections to his inability, when God called him to get done. This was because he believed in the faith of God's assuring words that he is with him to accomplish the mission and would also be exempt because of his ambitions for the children of Israel from slavery. To the point of his ambition, noted that Ted Engstrom "will never be lost sightThe ambition and vocation in life, make "0.7 During their mission, these words of encouragement has been a motivation for him was done.

In addition, the law of Maxwell said that over the years in the wilderness, the improvement of Moses' leadership. He said Jethro, Moses 'father'-in-law, as a person who has contributed to this difference in his life.

Moses also something that was not explicit in Scripture reached. Hubbard said in his article on the Pentateuch, whichJudaism and Christianity was adopted without question the biblical tradition that Moses wrote the academic journals for this purpose Pentateuch.8 materials large was not only for spiritual purposes as well.

Paul

a) story of his life before his appointment to leadership

By law, 21:39, 22:03, Paul was a native of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia. He was of pure Jewish descent and from the tribe of Benjamin (Phil 3:5). He was a jew and a Pharisee. He spoke greek and wasfamiliar with the Aramaic (Acts 22:2). Paul was able to make a tent, because it is normal that all Jewish children had to learn a trade.

In his book "Paul the leader, Oswald J. Sanders made this observation about Paul: "All the years of training were determined to prepare to become a prominent Pharisee and a rabbi like his great teacher Gamaliel" .9 Paul studied under Gamaliel, a teacher of law and the school of Hillel . Sanders also noted that embraced the school of Hillel, a widerand the liberal view of education as Shammai - the other emerging school.10 addition, Sanders explained that he was interested in conflict with the school of Shammai, the school of Hillel in Greek literature. In this school, she met Paul, works by Gentile authors use. He passed his companions in both academic achievements and zeal for God and the tradition of his fathers. It was almost a member of the Sanhedrin, the supreme law and civil court.11

b) His leadershipRole and services

Oswald Sanders was done, he said that Paul is a great spiritual leader if his heart and mind were Jesus.12 Such statements would have taken would have done if Paul had not been very successful in the role God has given to the 'execution. Another writer, Ted E. Engstrom gave the context for the success of Paul. "Jew living in a Greek city, and a Roman civil law, both by birth and training Paul had the obstinacy of the Jews, the culture of the Greeks andThe practicality of the Romans, and these qualities enabled him, the people, under which they are moving "13 According to Acts, Chapter 9, Paul uses the Lord Jesus when he commissioned to adapt to take the message of the Gospel to all nations occurred . Paul Records Commission of its successes can be found in Acts chapters 13-28. These mission trips were among non-Jewish territory, the church, the ministries of education or training among the nations, and debates with secular successPhilosophers.

In addition to Paul also wrote the letters of the thirteen New Testament. In these letters he dealt with important theological concepts like justification, sanctification, and resurrection of Christ. Different parts of the defense of the Christian faith against secular philosophies are also included in these letters. After 2 Tim. Was 4:7, Paul made sure the mission of God for his life when he fought the good fight had given him, finished the race and kept theFaith.

B. leaders that their predecessors were under control

The second category of leaders, are being studied, those who were cared for by their predecessors. managed under such a leader Joshua, Moses and Samuel, who succeeded Eli. These two leaders will be examined in this section.

Joshua

a) story of his life before his appointment to leadership

The Bible gave a brief introduction of the family of Joshua in Exodus 33:11, Numbers 1:10. He was the son of Nun, the sonElishama, chief of the tribe of Ephraim. Besides this, there is no information on him before he met Moses. The writings did much to focus on mentoring relationship with Moses, Joshua. attributed to this close collaboration between them in Scripture.

According to Exodus 00:13, when Moses came down the Sinai, who received two tablets for the first time Joshua went with him part of the way and was the first to meet him on his return (32:17). Although theSin Israelites worshiping the golden calf, Moses moved into the house outside the camp and left the city for a sum of Joshua. In addition, Joshua was one of the twelve spies that Moses to explore the land of Canaan. given only after more than forty years he was recruited by Moses in the desert that God directed Moses to Joshua, the leading authority on people.

In his book "Images of Leadership from the New Testament ', David Bennett, four steps in the development of aThe leaders of Jesus' example These are:

a) Develop leaders who have learned to follow
b) In order to achieve the training staff.
c) a commitment to the community and the formation of a task.
d) To the spiritual aspects of stress leadership.14

These four steps can be found in almost forty years of mentoring relationship between Moses and Joshua. As Engstrom, rightly says: "Moses had the right attitude, though he knew it was timeTrain someone else on his mind. He feared his father and a leader asked God to the Israelite successor ".15 This may be one reason why he had devoted himself as a mentor Joshua.

b) His leadership and performance

Joshua's role was made clear to him when he was commissioned as leader of Israel in order. His reputation and the Commission was mediated by Moses. In Numbers 27:12-22 Moses reminded the Lord that he is not in the Promised Land andJoshua that he would replace. Moses obeyed the instructions of the Lord commissioned Joshua and Israel before the whole assembly. The Commission found Joshua in focus during his mission and kept his faith in Him who has called. When Donald K. Campbell rightly points out, Joshua spoke to the nation as the Israelites sinned and God was defeated.16 order that Joshua leading the Israelites to the Promised Land, and clung to him to fulfill this mandate. Commentedthe charge given to Joshua to be strong and courageous in Josh. 01:06, Campbell also said it was a confirmation that God would not let Joshua can down.17 However, this is also seen as an indication that the first time was head of Israel had potential, it needs to conduct construct.

The details of how Joshua has accomplished its mission in Joshua reported. The conquest of Canaan was not easy, but the formation of Joshua as a military leader andits dependence on God has given him something more. He made mistakes but learned from his mistakes.

Samuel

a) story of his life before his appointment to leadership

According to John C. Samuel Maxwell was special from the moment he was born because it was an answer to prayer. He added that, as a small child, Israel.18 Samuel in the care of Eli the high priest and judge, this has been revealed so arranged that the mentoring relationship between Eli and Samuel started very earlythe life of Samuel. Like Joshua, Samuel remained in the same place with his mentor. In addition, a very early age, God began to speak directly with him and motivated him to worship and serve God faithfully Hannah's role in initiating the mentoring relationship should not be overlooked. McChesney and Unger said it was a vote that Hannah with Samuel, the Lord made to pay as Nazarite.19

b) his leadership and accomplishments

To better understand and appreciateSamuel results, you should first of the situations of religious, political and social orientation prior to its adoption. Eugene H. Merrill has rightly pointed out that "300 years and have been so marked by the history of Israel under the judges of political anarchy, moral and spiritual deterioration." This is the context in which all seemed to have failed, that Samuel was maintained and even increased leadership.20

With the respect of his services, "influential Samuelswith people will continue to increase during its life. As a prophet, he was respected because he spoke of God But the time was Judge Samuel Israel, a position similar to that of a king. It 'was the nation's civilian and military leaders. Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life ".21 In fact, the only driver to achieve specific properties, which reaches Samuel. It 'was this kind of excellent leadership that God is trying to address the worsening situationIsrael. Israel enjoyed a period of peace during the rule of Samuel.

C. Officers to take the lead due to the crisis

In the period between the death of Joshua, Samuel and the beginning of the guide, many people have chosen Israel as a judge. All of them have attended the leadership because of the crisis. Gideon and Samson were two of the judges who ruled Israel at that time. They will be examined in this section, as representative of the judiciary to determine whether they were preparedfor its leading role.

Gideon

a) story of his life before his appointment to leadership

In Judges Chapter 6-8 The Bible has given a brief historical account of Gideon's family backgrounds. He was the son of Joash, the Abiezrite. It was also the tribe of Manasseh. It 'possible that stresses that Gideon had no quality or potential for leadership, before becoming a leader. This assumption is proven wrong in the light of angels greetings to Gideon - "brave hero" (Judges 6:12). AsJoyce Peel rightly said, "the Angel calls his hidden qualities we see in the rest of the story of development" .22

We see that Gideon has faith in God with a question which asked the angel - "did the Lord bring us out of Egypt," Where are all the wonders that our fathers told us when they said his parents have recognize that in the past have depended on God for survival. However, Gideon wanted to be reassured that it is the God of his fathersto speak with him, so he asked God for a sign of him (17). Joyce Peel commented on the desire to Gideon that "was not the kind of character calls for an unbeliever to avoid a challenge, but a sign of a believer who is willing to confirm to obey" .23 Gideon was convinced that God spoke to him and only for the fact that he responded to the crisis Midianites.

b) his leadership and accomplishments

Gideon was asked to play a certain role and hand over to Israel wasfrom the Midianites. He had a clear vision in mind, he had to do. He also believed that he achieve his goal because he had the certainty that God had also on the inner qualities that earned him the courage to take action, although even in the night. Gideon delivered the Israelites from the Midianites' oppression, but led for the first time they came to faith in God But immediately after his death, the people turned to their foreignDei.

Samson

a) story of his life before his appointment to leadership

In Judges Chapter 13-16 The Bible speaks of the life of Samson. Samson was the son of Manoah of Zorah and out of the tribe of Dan His birth was announced by an angel with her parents. They were also said to be a Nazarite to God from the womb Iudg. 13:2-5,24). The Bible says in Judges 3:24-25, that God has blessed him, and that the Spirit of God to stir as he started in Mahaneh Dan From thisIncome can be seen that Samson was a man of unusual strength. In Hebrews 11:32, it was recognized by great men of faith. While the time of Samson the Philistines oppression of the Israelites.

b) His leadership and performance

Samson and the reputation of the Commission was mediated by his parents. 13:05 According to the court which was to start in the deliverance of Israel from the hand of the Philistines. As John Maxwell points out, rightly, "despite its good start, got Samsonis in trouble many times, and eventually ended badly was weak, blind and enslaved by the enemy of the people should be free "24 Samson an opportunity, a great leader, but his despicable character he had destroyed. leadership.

Conclusion

Three categories of state and government have been reviewed in this chapter show that the people God has been called the lead in the Bible is always prepared for their task. The first category of leaderswere those whose voice was a surprise for them. The second were those who were their predecessors, and the third were cured, those who respond to a crisis. E 'was shown that all these leaders of any preparation form, which had for its special charm. These preparations can come from God, their parents, religious background, education or a mentor. Therefore, one might conclude that God does not give anyone the leadership that has not been prepared. God's reputation orThe preparation does not guarantee success, because the preparation for effective leadership can not end a call.

Fashionable Beachwear

There are lots of situations where you would prefer to look your best and the beach is definitely going to be on a lot of people's lists as we get into the Summer season. So, in the few weeks or maybe even months before you venture out onto the sand you may have been getting your body into shape. However, all your hard work may count for nothing if you don't have the right beachwear. There are a number of things to take into account, and you may want to consider having multiple outfits, or at least multiple items of beachwear to suit different situations.

For example, if your day will consist mainly of lounging in the sun, then a knock out bikini will probably be the order of the day, but if you are planning on swimming, then maybe you could go with a one piece swimsuit. Maybe you would also go for the one piece suit if you don't want to get too much of your body out. There are more and more cutaway one piece swimsuits on the market now. Sometimes they are called monokinis, but they are designed to keep you looking stunning even if you are a bit shy about your body. Don't forget too, that sometimes, the temperature could drop unexpectedly as the clouds move in or the wind picks up and so a suitable coverup should also be on your list of essential beachwear fashion.

The cover up is something that a lot of people forget about until the last minute and this should not be the case. You should put as much thought and effort into choosing a nice cover up as you would to choose your bikini or swimsuit. It should be casual enough to throw on at a moment's notice, which means it should be lightweight, not bulky. Look around for a nice Kaftan or casual dress.

Don't forget that to finish off the look you will need suitable shoes for the beach as well as appropriate accessories. A nice pair of flip flops are always a winner for strolling along the sand, and for when you are taking lunch in a beach side restaurant, a nice pair of fashionable sandals will fit the occasion nicely along with a nice flowing skirt or sarong to make you feel more lady like and less exposed. Other accessories will finish things off nicely such as a nice pair of sunglasses, a hat and a nice bag to match your outfit. By the way, the choice of bag is important. Don't just go for any old bag you have lying around or the cheapest one you have found at a local market. The bag you carry helps to define you and so you may have two or three bags for different occasions or to match your outfit for that particular day or activity.

So, remember, your beach attire is much more than just a bikini or a swimsuit. You need to consider your whole outfit to ensure you always look your best in every situation this Summer

Tips For Eco Friendly Clothing

Within the ever-changing world we live in the current purchasing trend seems to tell consumers to, "Go green," even though half of us do not fully comprehend exactly what that means. Sure, it would b fantastic to buy products and services similar to what we already use while protecting the environment at the same time, but with all the gimmicks and sales out there how can a consumer know exactly what is legitimate and what is a scam? For example, I recently read an article that said green clothing is now the latest fashion; but even the author himself did not seem to know what that meant while he threw around bold statements and predictions. This article will focus on green clothing and exactly what the media does not want you to know.

To start...is there such a thing as "green clothing?" The short answer is yes, because industry has made it possible in recent years to recycle almost anything. Tires are being made into shoes (which ironically cost more than the tires did when new), tee shirts are made from all kinds of recycled materials, and jeans are constructed from threads that are more renewable within our environments. With that said, the same process that pumps toxic chemicals into our atmosphere is used to recycle many of these materials, so it may more likely be a scenario of killing a forest to save a neighboring tree. While this is not true in all cases, I only mention it to be fair to all parties and help consumers stay informed.

Now that the definition is partially out of the way, how does one determine if a piece of clothing is green? The answer comes from observing the clothing labels that you see within department stores and outlets; two key phrases you are looking for are "made from 100% recycled material" and "made from sustainable resources." What these mean is that either the clothing was made from something from the past or it is created from sources that regenerate faster than it is harvested. By using these processes the strain on natural resources are reduced and it allows our world to recover from the damages we have already caused by aggressive consumption.

So what about the clothing you already have? Well, the resources for those have already been collected, produced in a factory likely dangerous to the environment, and shipped overseas for another drastic waste in natural fossil fuels. No matter what damages may have been created by your former purchases, they are certainly not causing any harm to the environment in their current condition and they should be worn as long as possible. Their usable lives can be extended by washing them less frequently or with gentle cycles, and future purchases should also be made with durability in mind. By wearing clothing that will last longer or searching for brands made with recycled or renewable materials, you are effectively doing your part in joining the green revolution and protecting the environment. Not to the extent that others would have you believe, mind you, but a difference nonetheless.

So What is Different About Passover? Passover Preparations That's What!

This is the second of three articles. It deals with step two in summary form. A previous article lists the prohibited items and what to avoid. To review very briefly, the forbidden foods are known as chametz and include fermented grain products and leavening agents, whether in food or in non-food (like cosmetics or pet food). The prohibitions include eating, using or benefitting, owning or possessing any of them.

So how do you get rid of all that chametz? You sell it, destroy it or nullify it.

1) Start by cleaning your home, room by room and segregating your chametz. That way you will know what you own and where it is. Don't leave any place out, whether you rent or own. Look in your medicine chest, your child's sandbox and knapsack, your locker at the gym or elsewhere, your desk at work, your glove compartment and all those great little hiding places in the car. Hey! Passover preparations are serious business. If you own chametz or have it on your premises you have to get rid of it.

2) Sell your chametz to a non-Jew. That is one way to not violate the prohibition of owning chametz. This legal process can be done through a rabbi who acts as your agent in the sale. He sells it the day before Passover and buys it back on your behalf afterwards. Use the rabbi so that it's an actual sale and not a piece of legal fiction.

3) Collect and store all the sold chametz out of sight in a sealed or taped room or cabinet. The chametz should thus be inaccessible to you on Passover. Your rabbi may want a list of what you are selling, its value and location for inclusion in the contract.

4)Store real chametz, mixtures of chametz, possible chametz, kitniyos and utensils of any kind used throughout the year.

5) If you intend to use your stove and sink, or any of your pots and pans be aware that the taste of chametz is embedded in them. The process of removing embedded chametz is called kashering. Your Orthodox rabbi can advise what things can be kashered and how to do so.

6) The unsold chametz must be destroyed beyond usability no later than the morning before Passover. It can be eaten, given away to a non-Jew, fed to the birds, or taken to the city dump. The traditional method, used for small amounts of chametz, is to burn it. All of the methods work as long as the chametz is not in your possession after the allowable time.

7) A third process is called bitul chametz - nullification. You make a verbal declaration that any chametz that you didn't sell or destroy is ownerless. This is a back-up in case some chametz turns up unexpectedly. You will destroy it later anyway but you are not its owner retroactive to the nullification.

Once you have taken care of this very important part of keeping kosher on Passover, you can plan to get the foods needed for the seder meal. A third companion article discusses that activity. To be sure that you adequately relinquish your chametz - you For more information and an experienced mentor.

They can be worn for all occasions and are suitable for casual looks to formal affairs. These vintage stockings in classic colors are very much in style today. With retro looks all the rage, it is no wonder fashion conscious ladies are moving to this type of stockings to round out their look.

Vintage seamed stockings are definitely back in vogue and you should not be left behind!

Christmas Pageant Nativity play to Tell the Christmas story

A Christmas pageant or Christmas nativity play is a popular event among Christian groups in the lead up to Christmas. It tells the story of the birth of Christ in the town of Bethlehem, which is commemorated every Christmas. The main stage setting is almost always a humble stable where the family was compelled to stay because of crowding in the town during a census. This nativity scene telling about the origins of Christ is the dominant symbol of Christmas among Christians.

While a nativity play takes varying forms in different Christian communities around the world, it invariably features Mary and Joseph with their new baby in the straw of a manger, or feeding trough, in place of a crib. The scene usually features the animals of the stable, and shepherds. The story may feature the surrounding events of the Roman census and the inn keeper who found the family a place to sleep in the stable.

Angels usually appear, but the favorite moment for the audience is often the arrival of the richly dressed Three Wise Men bearing gifts, who find the stable by following the Star of Bethlehem.

There is a great deal of symbolism in the story, as Christian messages are conveyed in the play. It serves as a reminder of the traditional religious meanings of Christmas to Christians.

However the singing of popular carols and audience participation are also looked forward to as seasonal Christmas entertainment, especially among children.

Many churches and religious schools include the production of a nativity play at Christmas time as an important feature of their annual calendar of events.

Halloween, Skulls, Jericho and Mortality

Most of us have picture albums filled with photographs that bring back loving memories! While looking through bums aged pages, at the black and white photos of my Great Grand-dad, I can remember stroller rides and even the pleasant aroma of the cherry tobacco, that used to waft up from his pipe.

My Great Grandfather bless his soul, passed away long ago. If your like me, you probably also have photos of loved ones who have passed away. When you look at these pictures do sweet memories of days gone by flood back into your mind? Can you remember the pleasant times that you shared? Is it almost as if they were still alive?

Most of us don't realize it, but these images also prompt deeper subconscious emotions, that revolve around the theme of mortality and death. As uncomfortable as it may be, we are surrounded by these kind of images. From news cast to Hollywood horror movies, we're exposed to images that remind us that one day, we will indeed cease to be!

At no other time of the year is this more true, than on the eve of Halloween, when people dress up in deathly costumes and decorate their house and garden with skeletons, sculls and other scary things.

When you think of sculls what comes to mind? Are you reminded of graveyards, head hunters, shrunken heads or perhaps the skull and crossbones of pirate flags? Most likely, you probably wouldn't think of the Bible! However, in 1950's, Cambridge archeologist stumbled across an amazing find that is indeed biblical.

They were working at the site of the ancient city of Jericho, which you may recall from the Old Testament book of Joshua. Just as they were packing up their gear, they saw something protruding from an area dated to around 9000 years ago. The startling discovery that they made, was a human skull that was like non other.

It was no ordinary skull, for it had been reconstructed with plaster. An artist had reconstructed its nose and entire face and used very valuable cowry shell's for its eyes. The skull had also been squared off at the base so that it could have sat upright.

What made the discovery even more unique was that this skull was not found in a burial grounds. It positioned on the shelf of one of Jericho's ancient residences. They didn't just find one of these sculls, with further excavation, they went on to find eight more.

The archeologist were puzzled! What in the world were these used skull for? What did they mean? Why would someone living 9000 years ago in Jericho, decorate their home with a reconstructed skull? The only plausible explanation that they could come up with, was that the these sculls represented a type of portraiture, similar to our pictures of deceased relatives.

Some psychologist believe that the images of our loved ones who have passed away, may offer a form of comfort and help us accept the reality of our own mortality.

What Are Some Traditional Baby Names?

When it comes to naming their babies, some parents like to stay with tradition. This means nothing that is too different such as Nevaeh, which is "heaven" spelled backwards, or a name such as "Ziggy." This simply means sticking to the more traditional names that include "Michael" and "Thomas."

Some individuals like to stay with tradition when naming a child after a parent or grandparent. There is also the fact that the most traditional names are the strongest of names. It is always good to evaluate every angle of a name because that child will be starting school someday and the child does have to live with the name for the rest of their life.

So what are some good traditional baby names?

Traditional names

There are a lot of traditional baby names to choose from. Here are some that you may wish to consider if you are expecting and looking for something more traditional:

Alexander
Catherine
Alice
Henry
John
Peter
Rebecca
Sarah
Elizabeth
Matthew

You probably know someone with one of these names. What makes traditional names so special is that they have literally stood the test of time. Some of these names are names that have been around for thousands of years. This more or less has a lot to do with biblical origins. Many of these names are names that were present in the Bible and it has been tradition throughout many families to choose a biblical name for their child.

You will find biblical names most common amongst the Christian population. Traditional names such as John, Peter, Sarah, Rebecca, and Matthew are true because of this. There are also a variety of other names that include Mark, Luke, and Joshua that are common traditional names because of their biblical placement. However, this is not the only reason why individuals choose these names. Again, family tradition has much to do with it. So does culture.

If family tradition is a part of the deal, do not stray away just because of what is popular. Some of the above names are actually on the list of most popular names. As a matter of fact, Matthew, Sarah, and John are on the top 100 list and tend to remain there.

Which way to go?

So it is up to you whether you want to choose a traditional baby name or one that is a little more on the modern side. There are modern baby names that are strong and to the point. They don't have strange pronunciations or weird spellings. When choosing a name, these are things to look at.

With traditional, there is not really any room for guessing with a name. However, you may choose to stay with a traditional name but choose a different spelling. Traditional does not mean you do not have some room for creativity. You can be as creative as you want. If you stay traditional with the first name, have some fun with the middle name. Just make sure everything fits.

Create an Exciting Nursery Environment With a Theme

A number of elements go into creating a nursery environment that's pleasing to you and stimulating for your baby.

The major component of a successful design is the overall theme of your nursery, and integral to the theme is your choice of baby bedding. You may want to start with a theme and then choose your nursery bedding or look for bedding that you like and build your theme around it.

Designer crib bedding is created with babies in mind. There are huge varieties of colors, styles, and designs available for baby bedding today. Both infants and toddlers are intrigued with bright colors and interesting designs - and you can be, too.

Owning a wide variety of bedding is a great way to intrigue your baby's imagination and keep you feeling great every time you go into the nursery.

What Theme Should You Focus On?

Baby bedding themes can run the gamut from storybook characters to jungle themes, from animal prints to Disney's movie designs, and more. Let your imagination run wild when you choose your baby's bedding.

Look for designs that will stimulate young and inquisitive minds. It could be images of ladybugs or fire trucks, angels or airplanes. You can go geometric with stripes, circles, triangles and squares or favor a denim, bold colors, or a soft pastel look.

The Gender Neutral Noah's Ark Theme

If you're awaiting your baby's arrival and want to prepare the nursery beforehand you may want to choose a gender neutral theme. One interesting concept you can run with is a Noah's Ark theme. It's a great way to introduce your baby to a large variety of animals and it will be appealing to both boys and girls alike.

If you recall the biblical story, Noah was told to build a great ark and gather two of each of the animals in the world prior to a great flood that was about to cover the earth. When it started to rain he herded all the animals he gathered onto the ark where he kept them and his family safe and sound from the brewing storm.

Once the storm abated Noah sent out a dove to look for land. When it returned with an olive branch in its beak he knew his family and his precious cargo would be soon find land.

If you like the concept of the Noah's Ark theme you can buy baby bedding that has birds, animals, butterflies, and more. You can decorate the walls with murals or just buy some peel and stick decals for the walls. You can even paint a rainbow on the wall. What can be more soothing yet interesting?

Your Childs Name and its Effect On Childhood Development

Scientists, sociologists, institutes and child development organizations all made tests and studies to show whether or not the way you name your baby has any effects on his childhood development. Well, all these tests, studies and surveys don't mean squat, when compared to common sense. We'll use common sense in the following article, rather than scientific formulas and numbers, in order to determine whether or not the way you name your baby has any effect on his childhood development.

Pre-kindergarten Period

Having a weird or uncommon name as opposed to having a common one probably won't make any difference during this period. A child of this age is cute and cuddly regardless of his name and the only people he will come in personal contact with are his parents' close friends and relatives, which shouldn't feel any different about your little one because of his name. At worst, you could get a reaction from them that goes by the line of "Wow, that's an unusual name...how do you think he/she will feel about it when growing up?". And although most will probably think the above statement, 90% of them will probably shut up about it.

Kindergarten Period

Your child develops a great deal through kindergarten because it's the first time he gets an organized education and it's the first time he spends extensive periods with other kids his age. This is when the name of your baby really starts having some visible effects. Kids start reasoning during kindergarten and they start developing raw social skills, but they also have two traits that can have a negative effect on your child's development: they always speak their mind and they are mean. Yes, children are mean to other children even at this kind of age. How often have we seen a kid hitting another kid, just because he took his playing spot or because he wants to play with that particular toy. Having a weird name won't help stop other kids being mean to yours, on the contrary, it will encourage them. Getting physically and verbally abused every day starting from kindergarten because of your name, won't bring you up as a sturdy character and it will most likely have a negative effect on how you develop as a person.

The fact that they always speak their mind could also have a negative effect. If you named your daughter "Feather", she won't think there's something wrong with her name until he ends up in the same room with several kids. They'll start taunting her almost immediately as they find out about her name and this could drive your daughter into solitude or bar her ability to improve her social skills later on.

Primary, Mid and High School Child Development

In most countries, the entire school process lasts for 12 years, from age 6/7 to 18/19. It's the time your child develops his character, personal skills and it will have a great effect on how he will manage later on in life. It's also the time he can suffer most from his awkward name. The "cool" factor is very important to kids this age and having an awkward name severely reduces that. No one will want to be friends with the "dude with the weird name". On the other hand, having a unique name (as long as it's not weird) can be an advantage as he will stand out of the crowd in class and it could also enhance that "cool" factor we talked about earlier.

Wishing You an Unapologetic Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

In society today, it is not politically-correct to wish others Christmas Greetings. And yet, Christ bore His cross for us, knowing full well that His message of reconciliation and redemption would not be popular with the political and social elite. The least I can do is pick up my own small cross and risk a blank stare or harsh word in return.

Perhaps non-believers or those of other faiths will be offended by these words. When we wish someone a "Merry Christmas," we verbalize our desire that another of God's creation experience the message that Christ brings: God's Love, Peace, and Joy is for us all. Whether you are Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Agnostic, Atheistic, or uncertain, these gifts and God's grace are what He desires for us. "Merry Christmas" means I desire them for you as well.

We Christians complain about the mainstream media and the commercialization of the Christmas season. We despair over their substitution of "XMas" for "Christmas." For the record, abbreviating "Christmas" as "Xmas" existed long before political correctness was born. "X" is the Greek letter "Chi" and was used to represent Christ as early as the 9th century. Christ in Greek is "Xristos". Since the first texts were written in Greek and later translated into other languages, the use of this abbreviation is arguably biblical. Many, particularly the mainstream media believe they have been successful in "removing Christ from Christmas." And yet, He remains nonetheless as it should be. The question for those of us who believe remains: Will we remove Christ from our dialogue or will we share the true spirit of Christmas with others?

May God bless you and your family with His unending abundance, love and peace.

P.S. Merry Christmas!
P.P.S. Join me in wishing perfect strangers a Merry Christmas this Christmas season. You'll be glad you did.
